Introduction

Introductory to Vanilla Squared.

The vsq wiki is updated to -2.12.1 (out on github).

Overview

Vanilla Squared (short: "vsq") is a minecraft fabric mod originally created by @PainterFlow11 that updates old systems and improves Mojangs drops by a slight bit to give them that extra touch the community wanted.

Main Feature(s)

Vanilla Squareds main feature is the overhauled enchanting system! Items now have enchanting slots limiting the amount of maximum enchantments that can be put on an item. The way to obtain enchantments was however also completely turned on its head, you now have to find recipes for enchanting in structures or trade for them through villagers. After that, you now also have to obtain materials on top of some level requirements. But we can't forget the new special enchantments, enchantments with a cooldown that can be used through a new keybind with some very cool effects. And to top it all of, its all fully datapack compatible, so you can use these features to create your own experience without having to know how to code. On top of all the enchanting stuff, there are also other cool changes requested by the minecraft community which didn't make it into the final drops, for example redstone sulfur cubes, this mod makes them real.

Redstone sulfur cubes are currently only in prerelease on github.

Other Important Information

Vanilla Squared is currently still in alpha, although the release after -2.12.0 will be -1.0.0 aka the start of the beta phase. So devastating bugs are not too unusual, especially in the prereleases on github.

Minecraft Version Support

Vanilla Squared always tries to update to the newest version as soon as possible with no backend support since it would be too much to handle at the moment. This will also likely not change in the future.
